Hey, everyone. Are you sort of starting to settle into a bit of rhythm with your communion taking? If not, don’t worry. My husband and I are trying to take it together just before we go to bed, with our 2 year old. I love how the Bible doesn’t put an age limit on these things. She is ingesting Jesus life into her body just as we are.
I just wanted to share today some of my favourite communion songs to listen to, songs that declare truth and life. Sometimes words and music have the power to sink deeper into our brain than words alone. Actually, it is a fact that people who are introduced to a concept through song and music before they are taught about it with words, understand and accept it better.
Maybe try meditating on one of these songs during your quiet time?
Forever by Kari Jobe – a powerful declaration of what Jesus accomplished on the cross.
You Saw Me by Hillsong – this personalises what a great big God did for me, and you. Long before we were born, we were in His mind when Jesus went to the cross.
Nothing but the Blood – an old classic done here by Matt Redman, the very foundations of our faith.
Lead Me to the Cross by Hillsong – a beautiful song to quiet ones heart with and remember what Jesus has done.
Power in the Name of Jesus – this is a powerful declaration to be singing over yourself as you are focusing on the power of Jesus. Opening our mouths and singing activates spiritual forces beyond ourselves. God created the world with the power of the Word, and we are created in His image. What we speak has the power of life and death and declaring this one is definitely Life.
Oh the Blood by Kari Jobe – I just found this new one by Kari Jobe, she focuses on the deep things in worship.
It’s Your Blood – a beautiful hymn that I learnt in PNG, but I’m sure it has been around for a good while. One of the most powerful communion experiences of my life.
Oh the Blood of Jesus – a new take on the Old Hymn.
Thank You Jesus, for all that You’ve done, and for giving us deeper revelation and insight, and restoring communion to the place You intended it to have in our lives.
